Weekend Writing Warriors
Here's another 10 from one of my old favourites, Lost Time, an erotic time-travel romance. (published January 2013) When we left Hannah, she was cursing her friend who'd stood her up...
The cell went quiet and Hannah resisted the urge to spike the damn thing on the floor. She spent the next thirty minutes panicking and pacing, trying to convince herself not to go back home.
You’ve come this far. Everything you’ve dreamt about is only a plane ticket and an ocean away.
She was insane to travel unaccompanied. Not only the danger, but what fun would it be to sightsee and bar-hop on her own? She was just asking for trouble. Right?
Damn it, she argued, she’d scrimped and saved and budgeted for so long and she’d already spent the money. This was her dream.
BLURB:
She can't give up now. Great snippet
ReplyDeleteThanks, Naomi
DeleteYou go, Hannah. Don't give up the dream. Good snippet.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping, Rachel
DeleteGo, Hannah! The best fun I've ever had was backpacking around Europe on my own. Though I have a feeling Hannah's going to have a very different kind of adventure. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh Christina that sounds like a wonderful adventure.
DeleteYes, Hannah's experience will be a bit different. :)
Thanks for stopping.
Good internal dialogue. Conflict inside oneself about what to do can be even more dramatic and compelling than conflict with another person.
ReplyDeleteSo very true.
DeleteThanks for stopping, Ed.
Traveling alone can actually be a lot of fun! That's how I met my hubby. ;-) She definitely needs to go for it.
ReplyDeleteI love that, Stephanie! Your travel adventure sounds like a great story. Thanks for commenting.
