Happy New Year from Evernight!

Be sure to visit every stop on the hop and answer each question. The more blogs you hop, the more chances to win the GRAND PRIZE of an iPad Mini sponsored by Evernight Publishing (one entry per blog). Plus, hop each blog for a host of other fabulous prizes.
So sink into your favorite chair and enjoy your holiday hangover...
According to the Mayo Clinic (online) the symptoms of a hangover are: Fatigue and weakness, thirst, headaches and muscle aches, nausea, vomiting or stomach pain, poor or decreased sleep, increased sensitivity to light and sound, dizziness or a sense of the room spinning, shakiness, decreased ability to concentrate, mood disturbances, such as depression, anxiety and irritability and confusion.
This could be me on any given day, no alcohol needed. LOL!
As for remedies, they suggest:
Fluids, such as, water and fruit juice. I usually crave something fizzy like ginger ale.
Have a snack. Their suggestions are bland foods, toast or soup. I usually want something terribly greasy, like bacon, eggs or french fries. After I'm feeling better, of course.
Pain killers. I usually do that one before I go to bed as a preventative. (doesn't always work though) Depends what I've been over imbibing on.
Go back to bed.
All common sense.
I know others use concoctions of some kind, like Bloody Marys. Or coconut milk, Gatorade or Vitamin Water. You've heard them all, right? Eat a banana or an apple. Bread or crackers.
And as I was doing a quick little research, I found one I hadn't heard of. A Wasabi or mustard bath. It takes the toxins out of the body apparently. Who knew.
There's an entire Pinterest page dedicated to hang over cures. Check it out if you're in need.

And last, my favourite option. Have another drink.
Cheers All!
Here's a little sneak peek to my upcoming release and first collaboration with Evernight, entitled Next Weekend, coming out in January. It's about a couple going through a divorce but the wife, who initiated the proceedings, is more attracted to her husband after the fact than she was while they were married. Whaaaat??!!?? :D And then there's the (very mild burgeoning) D/s element. Hope you'll check it out.
(here's the unedited blurb)
Jordie is not completely surprised when Miranda suggests they separate. Their marriage had been deteriorating from the moment they took their vows. Although heartbroken things didn’t work out with the woman he expected to spend the rest of his life with, he doesn’t contest her decision.
The only thing holding up the final divorce decree is the sale of their get-away cabin. In a weak moment, Miranda heads there for the weekend knowing full well that Jordie will also be there. Accidentally—on purpose, she seduces him and leaves an open invitation for another naughty weekender.
But the next time they meet, Jordie’s anger over the entire situation has kicked in and he finds himself being rough and commanding with her. And even more surprising, his ex likes it.
Follow Jordie as he finds and embraces his dominant side and Miranda her submissive self.
Will it be enough to save their doomed relationship or will the issues that drove them apart remain more than they can overcome?
Also watch for my second release with Evernight, coming in February 2015, Memories of Us
Enter for a chance to win Evernight’s GRAND PRIZE of an iPad Mini and my blog prize by answering this question (be sure to include your email address to be eligible to win):

My favorite book of all time is actually a series of seven, The Harry Potter series. I started reading them when the sixth book was in hardback and only after sending a message to my sis in law finally agreeing to read them after her hounding me for years to do so. The concept just did not interest me. I ended up reading all of them in less than a month and went to Borders Midnight Ball/Release party to get the final installment, Deathly Hallows. This is a beautifully told story of friendship, love and loss and sometimes all three at once. JK Rowling did something that is rarely seen and that is to create a whole new world where generations to come will still be discovering it. laura.striplin@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteAlanea Alder "My Commander" it was so funny.
